Mariposa Partners is led by Kate Mitchell, an experienced HR consultant with more than 25 years of human resources leadership experience across hospitality, restaurants, retail, food and beverage, e-commerce, fashion, software, SaaS, nonprofits, education, and professional services.
Kate has worked with organizations ranging from small owner-led businesses to larger, more complex companies, giving her a practical understanding of how HR needs change as a business grows. Her work focuses on helping small and mid-sized employers create clear, compliant, and workable HR practices that support both the business and its employees.
Kate's experience includes employee relations, wage and hour compliance, employee handbooks, policy development, HR infrastructure, recruiting, performance management, leadership support, organizational change, and workplace compliance. She regularly partners with owners, executives, managers, and internal HR or administrative teams to identify risk, solve people-related challenges, and build tools that can actually be used in day-to-day operations.

Steve Letchworth supports Mariposa Partners clients with practical HR compliance tools, workplace safety programs, and related documentation. He brings a long professional background in residential real estate appraisal, where attention to detail, documentation, risk awareness, and regulatory process were central to his work.
Since entering the HR compliance space in 2024, Steve has focused on helping small and mid-sized employers build clear, usable compliance systems. His work includes supporting the development of Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, Workplace Violence Prevention Plans, safety inspection tools, employee-facing forms, and other foundational HR compliance documents.
Steve's approach is practical, organized, and grounded in the realities of day-to-day business operations. He helps translate compliance requirements into tools clients can actually use, with an emphasis on clarity, consistency, and risk reduction.
